13th Würzburg Workshop in Heidelberg

Schedule

Planned sessions [“organizers”]:

  1. Type Ia supernovae [Sabrina, Stefan(?)]
  2. Stellar hydrodynamics [Fritz, Leo]
  3. Binary dynamics (Common Envelope, Mergers) [Christian, Fabian]
  4. Neutron star mergers [Andreas, Stuart(?)]

Please mark the session(s) you are interested in. We may have parallel sessions and this helps to plan the schedule avoiding too much conflict…

Organization

The workshop is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, December 17/18, 2018. It will start Monday noon with registration (we have to do this for the conference venue) and lunch and end Tuesday afternoon. The workshop will take place in the Studio at Villa Bosch and HITS, Heidelberg.

Please sign up below and give suggestions for topics to discuss/own contributions to the program.

Topics

  • SLH hackathon (Jonas + Philipp) a day after the workshop to implement into SLH:
    • tanh-based limiter-free second order TVD-reconstruction to accurately capture discontinuities
    • well-balanced method for steady states including velocities
  • relativistic Arepo (status and plans), checking current implementation (George, Ruediger, Andreas, Fritz)
  • future strategy with SNe Ia
  • future strategy with stellar hydro, development of SLH
  • SLH: future publishing strategy: Why are there almost no publications? Shouldn't we focus this?
  • future strategy with CE simulations etc.
  • TAP modules at HITS
